I like you VERY much.

Hello

I am not really a catalogue girl, I have not used one for years since I ordered a few things from La Redoute and it all went back as the quality was rubbish.

However I have seen the recent adverts for Very and always think to myself how lovely their items look plus they sell brands like Oasis, Lipsy etc
Once I looked at the website it was fatal and I have made a small order.

Firstly I ordered:

Oasis Isabelle Lace Skater Dress - this is a stunning dress.

South Ponte Skater Dress - I want this to wear to work I really hope it suits me!

South Summer Blue Petite Jeggings - I love jeggings and I love the colour of these as I have very light blue, dark blue, black and bright blue jeggings but nothing this colour.  I also love the fact that they have these in petite as I find most of my jeggings are a tad too long for me..I still wear them though :)

I can use the pay nothing for 12 months option but I am not going to as I would rather pay it off asap.  When I used catalogues before I usually ordered a few items paid them off and then ordered a few more and do the same, that way you don't get into debt.

Have you used Very before, what do you think of these items?

Fresh as a daisy

Hello

Hope your all having a nice bank holiday weekend.  I have been really lazy and actually spent most of today in bed on my laptop...!  Well I am making the most of it as its back to work tomorrow :(

Anyway onto today's post and as you know I am like my florals especially anything with daisies..I mean how could anyone not like daisies they are really pretty and delicate,  so imagine my delight when I came across this daisy design bodycon dress.

I think there is not enough Daisy things in the shops , we need more daises :)

Oh also I purchased a denim skirt this week in New Look.  I actually hate denim skirts with a passion, something about them makes me think 'chav'! However I love this one as I love the solid indigo colour and its really flattering.

It has an elasticated waist (another thing I am not keen on in skirts) but it reminds me of 'jeggings' style but in a skirt!   I will wear this with pretty tops in summer and jumpers and thick tights in winter, so its a good all rounder.

I must give you an update of my diet and exercise plan too as I have 3 weeks till my girly weekend in Bournemouth and 6 weeks to my holiday in Zante.  I have been going to the gym twice a week but last week I upped that to 3 times a week as I am feeling fitter.

Take care

Back in the driving seat!

Hiya everyone

Sorry for the lack of posts but I have had a busy week and my parents have been staying with us again.  I shall be doing more regular posts from now on :)

Well I have finally made a big purchase and bought a car....!  I pick it up next weekend and I am so excited because I have not been on the road for like a year and a half which is when my old Ford Fiesta went to car heaven.  Since then as I worked in town I usually bussed it or got the train as parking in town is so expensive.  But lately since I started my new job in January (which incidentally is only a 5 minute drive from home and has free parking) I decided I wanted to get a car again.  To be honest I am not someone who will be driving very far in it.  We use Mike's car for further afield trips but I just wanted something to get me to work and back, go shopping, vist friends and go to restaurants/cinema etc.

stock photo

I did not want to spend £1000's on a car thats not really going to be going very far.   I mean I could have gone to a car showroom and bought a brand new car but whats the point it would be a waste of money, therefore I have bought a secondhand Seat Arosa (similar to a VW Lupo) its only a 1.0 which is cheap on petrol too. Mike knows the guy I bought it from and he is pretty trustworthy plus he has been Mike's mechanic for years.

I cannot wait to get back on the road.

Take care

Big Summer Haul

Hiya

Last week I went shopping wih my mum and bought some gorgeous items in (can you guess....yes you are correct.....NEW LOOK! ) I had a 25% discount voucher too so saved quite a bit :)

We had a fabulous day although I think I tired my poor mum out.

Firstly I purchased this gorgeous ditsy lace waist dress.  Love this dress its a little stunner.

Pink Floral Ruffle Dress, very girly I wondered if its too girly even for a girly girl like me but it does look really nice on me.  My mum said it was made for me!

Pink Lace back cardigan - I love this cardigan so much, its beautiful and the colour is gorgeous.

I love the lace back

Pink Pointelle jumper - love the colour of this too as its very vibrant. The photo does not do it justice.

Sunglasses - these were only £2.99 but as I always tend to lose or break my sunglasses so I don't like to spend a lot on them.

Also in Primark I bought this lace trim cami

We also popped into Asda and I bought these shoes which were only a tenner.  They are really ideal for work as they are not too high and very comfy.

What do you think of my summer buys?

Have a nice weekend

Morrisons homeware buys

Hiya

Last Saturday we popped to Morrisons and I picked up these great homeware bargains.

The Cath Kidston style mugs were 98p each and I thought the coasters were ideal for the bedroom and only £1.00

and while I am talking about the bedroom you can see that Ollie loves the new room can't you! :)

Look out fot my large haul coming up soon.

Plus good news I have lost some weight.  I think its taking time as I am not that big so when you only have a small amount to lose its harder.  My clothes are looser though and I am beginning to feel more like the old me :)

Take care

REVIEW: Tan Atomicals - The Holy Grail for the deathly Pale

Hello everyone

As promised this is my first Tan Atomicals fake tan review.

Tan Atomicals - The Holy Grail for the deathly Pale Instant & self tan mousse.   I have to say I love the name...ha ha!

Well for starters I am not really pale but I always like a bit of extra added tan.  I hate the thought of looking too pale (for me anyway) or tangerine coloured so I just like to add a bit of colour to my already light olive complexion!  I think this tan would also be ideal for paler skins though as its not ridiculously dark! :)

This mousse retails at £6.99 in Superdrug and various other places.

They do put some rather zany and witty slogans on their products!

This is what the mousse look likes when you first apply it....

This is the colour after once application.  It does get slightly darker after a few hours.  It does not go orange..there is no hint of orange, it just goes a lovely dark bronzed colour. Sorry the photo is not too clear but I love the colour.

Personally I love it and it smells exactly like Pina colada..gorgeous coconut and pineapple and not one hit of fake tan smell.

PROS

EASY TO APPLY
GIVES INSTANT BRONZED COLOUR WHICH DEVELOPS SLIGHTLY DARKER
SMELLS DIVINE
THE PRICE IS GOOD

CONS

ermmmm NONE!!!

I think its as good as Sienna X which is more than double the price of this and so I will definitely be repurchasing.
My favourite tanning product is still Sally Hanson Airbrush Legs at its literally foolproof but Sally Hansen is more of a product you would use for a special occasion or a night out where as Tan Atomicals Tanning Mousse is more of a longer term everyday tan as the colour lasts a few days.

I will do a review of the Tan Atomicals Instant Tan which I also purchased at the same time.

Hope you liked this review, let me know if there is anything else you wanted to know about this product.

Take care

Where have I been & Superdrug buys!

Hiya everyone

Once again sorry for the lack of posts but I have had a few hectic days as my parents have been visiting and I have had a such a great time.  Its always lovely to spend time with my parents.  My dad is in bad health, he has heart failure so I treasure the time I get to spend with them.  On Thursday my mum and I went shopping and I bought loads...post coming up soon.  Then on Friday we went to see Deal or No Deal being filmed.  We watched two shows and it was brilliant, I so want to go on that game show.  We had front row seats which was even better. Sadly today I said goodbye to them but I will be seeing them again in a couple of weeks.

I was ok saying good bye until after they had gone and then I had a few tears as it hit me that I just don't know how long I have got left with my dad and I don't really see them that often.

Anyway onto today's post which is just a small Superdrug haul.

I have quite a few posts coming up and they won't be a week apart!!

Firstly I bought some Tan Atomicals fake tan.  I have heard a lot of good things about Tan Atomicals and they were only £6.99 each which is cheap compared to a lot of fake tans.

love the name of these as well!  Get a tan without looking like your Gran - this is an instant tan that can be washed off.

The holy grail for the deathly pale - this is a mousse thats already dark so you can see where you have put it but it then develops darker in a few hours.

I will try and do a review of these for you.  I have tried them both and so far they are my new favourite tan. Even better than Sienna X!!!

Sscondly Superdrug Vitamin E Moisturiser, this is the best moisturiser I have found and it costs just £2.99...who says you need expensive products! This is not tested on animals which is a plus point. I have sensitive skin so some moisturisers bring me out in spots but this is the only one I have found that moisturises my skin and does not make greasy.  I love this.  I am going to try some more of the Superdrug Vitamin E products.

Have you used any Tan Atomicals or Superdrug Vitamin E products?

Take care

New Look haul

Hiya everyone :)

Well the lovely long weekend is over with I have been off work for 6 days so it's going to be hard going back today, still I am only in work today and tomorrow as I have Thursday and Friday off as my parents are coming down to visit. They are big fans of Deal or No Deal so they have got us tickets to see a couple of shows as its fimed in Bristol.
While I was off last week I also booked a girlie weekend in June  with a friend in Bournemouth....so excited.

I had a little spree in New Look the other day and wanted to share with you my buys.  I had a 25% off voucher too. :)

Cream Lace Blazer, this is stunning.  I don't wear blazers much as I usually wear cardigans but this is so lovely and very flattering.  It sort of cropped so it flatters the waistline.

Now onto my favourite thing...this gorgeous bow necklace.  This has to be the prettiest necklace....I love this so much. It was £3.75 with the discount.

White lace top - this will be nice for work tucked into a pencil skirt or can be worn with skinny jeans .

Black Peter Pan collar top - another top ideal for work

Floral hair slides

I also bought some of the 3 for £7 briefs..I do love New Look's underwear

Also I did pop into Primark and I purchased this cream purse. Its really roomy and smart looking and a bargain for only £4.00.

Anyway thats my lot for the last couple of weeks.

♥ Our new redecorated bedroom - photo heavy ♥

Hello everyone

Well I know a few people have asked to see some bedroom photos and so here they are.

I am so please with it I think its made the bedroom really fresh and has a shabby chic style.  I think photos don't really sum up a room well as I think you need to see it in person to see the real effect.

Please excuse the black spot in the photos, there is something wrong with my camera. Plus just as I took the photos the gold top from the headboard fell off...it falls off all the time!

Feature wallpaper is from B&Q - K2 Holden in Arabella Mini

The built in wardrobes are from Sharps fitted bedrooms they were here when we moved in a few years ago but we really like them they are very modern.  The previous owner told us they cost a fortune and you can tell, the quality and look is great.  In fact they are the only original thing we liked in the whole house.
Cushion - Primark
Ditsy Rose duvet set - Primark
Our bed is a Silentnight and was only bought a few months ago from Dreams but we kept the headboard from our old bed.

The lamps are from Ikea, my mum bought these for us when we first moved in a few years ago.  They are frosted glass with daisy cut out design...I love these lamps so much. ♥

The walls were painted in Dulax Jasmine White and Dulux Brilliant White on all the woodword and wardrobes (except the Sharps ones).  The built in cupboard that is painted brilliant white was there when we moved in.  The doors are sliding which is good as there would not be a lot of space to open them with the bed there otherwise!  We bought the handles to match the handles on the Sharps cupboards so it all matched.  They were also from B&Q.
The Cath Kidston bag is just hung there for effect.. :)

The chrome curtain rails are from B&Q and they have a spiral ending and the curtains were our original curtains which we bought these when we first moved in I think they were from a shop in Bristol called Textile World.

The canvas picture is from Wilkinsons...a bargain at only £6.00.  I love it and it adds something to the plain walls.

This is another cupboard which houses all my shoes and a lot more clothes!  The over the door mirror was bought 2 years ago from Matalan but they have it in white and I so wish I had bought the white one now.  I may still buy it as they still have it online.  I think the wood effect ruins the look of the room!

The floating shelf is from B&Q although I think we may have put it up to high...nevermind!  On the shelf I have the tv, pictures of Tommy and Ollie and the far frame is what a lovely friend of mine gave me as part of a christmas present.  She already put the photos in for me although I have changed one of them.  I am in all the photos.  Top left with my husband, top right with my gorgeous friend Yimen (who bought me the frame) bottom left is me when I was about 7 and bottom right me now.

We don't have any blinds at the moment as the old ones were damaged so they were thrown out.  I hate net curtains so I am not sure whether I am going to leave the windows bare or get new blinds.

I also want to get a couple of small floral arrangements for the window sills.

The lampshade is from B&Q this was bought about a year ago.  Its lovely as when the light is on it illuminates through the cut out floral design.  Its also very similar to my Ikea lamps.

Its not fully complete yet as we still ned to buy a chest of drawers/dressing table and a new bedroom door as the old one is very tired and dated looking.

I have seen some gorgeous white drawers and dressing tables at Dunelm Mill which will look fab in our room.

So there you have it...what do you think?
